Want to meet West Virginia forward Gabe Osabuohien? You’ll have that opportunity over the next week as Osabuohien is making his way around the state. The entry fee is $25 with the ability to meet Osabuohien and have up to three items signed.

Wheeling – April 6

Parkersburg – April 7

Beckley – April 8

Charleston – April 9

Morgantown – April 10

Osabuohien spent three seasons at West Virginia after transferring from Arkansas in 2019. The fifth-year senior appeared in 87 games from 2019-22, averaging 3.2 points, 4.6 rebounds, 1.9 assists, 1.3 steals and 0.4 blocks. Osabuohien won the 2022 Co-Big 12 Defensive Player of the Year award, sharing the honor with Oklahoma State’s Moussa Cisse and Baylor’s Jonathan Tchamwa Tchatchoua.

Osabuohien will always be remembered by West Virginia fans for the toughness that he brought to the court. The Ontario native was WVU’s “glue guy” during his time in college and was well respected in the Big 12 Conference.

“I tell our guys we need a Gabe Osabuohien,” Oklahoma State head coach Mike Boynton said this season.

Osabuohien wasn’t known for his scoring but was known for changing the outcome for the game in every other way.

“I’ve tried to have somebody like that, it’s hard to find guys like that,” WVU head coach Bob Huggins said. “He doesn’t care about scoring really. He changes the game.”
