Morgantown – April 10

Osabuohien spent three seasons at West Virginia after transferring from Arkansas in 2019. The fifth-year senior appeared in 87 games from 2019-22, averaging 3.2 points, 4.6 rebounds, 1.9 assists, 1.3 steals and 0.4 blocks. Osabuohien won the 2022 Co-Big 12 Defensive Player of the Year award, sharing the honor with Oklahoma Stateโ€™s Moussa Cisse and Baylorโ€™s Jonathan Tchamwa Tchatchoua.

Osabuohien will always be remembered by West Virginia fans for the toughness that he brought to the court. The Ontario native was WVUโ€™s โ€œglue guyโ€ during his time in college and was well respected in the Big 12 Conference.

โ€œI tell our guys we need a Gabe Osabuohien,โ€ Oklahoma State head coach Mike Boynton said this season.

Osabuohien wasnโ€™t known for his scoring but was known for changing the outcome for the game in every other way.

โ€œIโ€™ve tried to have somebody like that, itโ€™s hard to find guys like that,โ€ WVU head coach Bob Huggins said. โ€œHe doesnโ€™t care about scoring really. He changes the game.โ€
