  • West Virginia (+7.5) against Oklahoma State – Loss
  • Penn State (+6) at Ohio State – Win

Hot Picks of Week Ten

Penn State (-9) at Michigan State

The Nittany Lions will enter this game pretty pissed off. By all accounts, Penn State was the better football team last Saturday despite falling to Ohio State on a last minute touchdown pass. And even though Michigan State will host this contest, I wholly expect the Nittany Lions’ defense to take full advantage of the Spartans’ lethargic offense. Since beating rival Michigan in the “Big House”, Michigan State has struggled mightily against lesser competition due to its offense. Look for Heisman leader Saquon Barkley to strengthen his campaign this Saturday.

Oklahoma (+2.5) at Oklahoma State

Welcome to Bedlam. Outside of the state of Oklahoma, this game means very little. But if you’re a fan of offensive football, it’s a must-watch. In fact, the over (76.5) was tempting, but I like the idea of an almost forgotten about Sooners team reclaiming relevancy with a marquee win in Stillwater. Oklahoma is 5-0 in its last five games on the road and the Cowboys have gone 2-12 in the last 14 meetings against the Sooners. Oklahoma signal caller Baker Mayfield has thrown 5 touchdowns and no interceptions against Oklahoma State the past two seasons, and I don’t expect that narrative to change this Saturday.

Florida State (-6) against Syracuse

At this point, Florida State is fighting to simply make a bowl game. Any bowl game. And that’s exactly why I’m picking the Seminoles to win by at least a touchdown against Syracuse. Forget about having a freshman quarterback and running back leading the offense and the frustrating string of events that took place after losing Deondre Francois in the very first game of the season. This is Florida freaking State. At home. Against Syracuse. It’s time Jimbo Fisher and company man up and play for the brand.
