WVU Football Recruiting
WVU Football Joins Mix for Multi-Sport Texas QB Prospect
Even with a young Michael Hawkins Jr. tearing it up early in his Mountaineer tenure, the WVU football staff is always on the hunt for the next great player. And on Tuesday, West Virginia sent an offer to one of the top quarterback prospects in the country.
Tristin “TK” Gaines revealed his WVU offer on social media, showing it as his first major offer in months. Listed at 6-foot-2 and 195 pounds, Gaines, who also excels in baseball, is considered one of the top 25 players in his class and the No. 14 ranked quarterback by 247 Sports.
He still has more time to develop, too. Gaines is a member of the 2028 class at Waller High School in Waller, Texas.
Gaines now adds WVU to his growing offer list that also currently includes Arizona, Arizona State, Arkansas, Baylor, Cincinnati, Florida, Houston, Iowa State, Kansas, Kentucky, Michigan, Mississippi State, Oklahoma State, Oregon, Syracuse, TCU, Tennessee, Texas Tech, UCLA, SMU and UTSA.
