Former WVU Women’s Basketball Star Jordan Harrison Plans to ‘Step Away’ From the Sport
After her rookie season in the WNBA, former WVU basketball guard Jordan Harrison said she will “step away” from basketball in a post to Instagram.
Most recently, Harrison signed a standard contract with the Portland Fire on Aug. 9. Harrison previously signed a player development contract with the Fire on May 25. She initially made the team’s opening roster, but was waived just days later.
Harrison finished the season with 5.1 points, 4.2 assists and 1.8 rebounds per game in 16 appearances.
Harrison capped off her WVU tenure with a Big 12 Defensive Player of the Year nod, averaging 13.2 points per game and totaling 106 steals in three years as a Mountaineer.
Harrison followed head coach Mark Kellogg to Morgantown in 2023 when he was hired from Stephen F. Austin.
