WVU Baseball Pitcher Carson Estridge Signs With Astros
WVU baseball pitcher Carson Estridge signed an undrafted free agent contract with the Houston Astros on Friday.
Estridge is the sixth Mountaineer to be drafted by or sign as a free agent with an MLB team this week, joining Dawson Montesa (No. 72, Cardinals), Maxx Yehl (No. 91, Royals), Paul Schoenfeld (No. 236, Diamondbacks), Ian Korn (No. 298, Giants), and Reese Bassinger (UDFA, Blue Jays).
The Haymarket, Virginia native enjoyed a four-year career with WVU where he went 11-4 with a 4.41 ERA in 76 appearances, tied for most in program history. He had 165 strikeouts in 151.0 innings.
Estridge had his best season in 2026 as he went 4-0 with a 3.09 ERA and 34 strikeouts in 35.0 innings and had two scoreless outings in the College World Series. He was named All-Big 12 Honorable Mention.
