The Key Play

With a thrilling come from behind homecoming victory over Texas Tech this past weekend, head coach Dana Holgorsen notched his 50th career win at WVU.

Holgorsen, who is in his 7th year, has a career record of 50-33 (.602) including two 10-win seasons (2011 & 2016). Mountaineer football has become stronger during his tenure, especially with the affiliation to the Big 12 Conference. The facilities have been renovated and improved as has the recruiting. Holgorsen’s newly signed contract extension would make him the 2nd longest tenured head coach at the conclusion of the contract – only behind legend Don Nehlen.

With the direction of the football program, you could easily say that he will be bringing more success to the Mountain State. He has steadily built the program, and it only appears to be the beginning of a great era.

Conference championships are step one.
