WVU Football OL Andreas Hunter

Andreas “Dre” Hunter is hoping to eventually become a member of the WVU football offensive line. Hunter, a 2024 in-state prospect, announced his decision to join the West Virginia program on Tuesday morning.

The 6-foot-5, 300-pound Moundsville, W.Va. native currently attends John Marshall High School. He revealed his choice during a ceremony in front of friends and family at his school.

Hunter decided to try to become a Mountaineer over taking full scholarship offers from smaller programs like Maine, Marshall and Youngstown State. Members of the WVU coaching staff, including head coach Neal Brown, offensive coordinator Tyler Allen and special teams coordinator Jeff Koonz, visited Hunter at school back in early January.

As far as where Hunter may fit on the line, he’s viewed as an offensive tackle.

Hunter also attended West Virginia’s game against Cincinnati during the 2023 season and previously committed on Sept. 13.
