WVU Football Offers Northwestern Graduate Transfer DB
The WVU football program is not completely finished looking to transfer players when it comes to improving the roster for the 2024 season. West Virginia sent an offer to defensive back Garnett Hollis Jr. on Wednesday.
Hollis revealed WVU extended him an offer less than 24 hours after he entered the transfer portal. The former Northwestern defensive back is able to be on the move due to being a graduate transfer with one year of eligibility. Hollis also posted about an offer from Georgia Tech.

After making four starts and appearing in eight games as a junior in 2022, Hollis played in all 13 games for the Wildcats in 2023 and recorded an interception and three pass deflections. He also made 49 total tackles, including 3.5 for a loss.
The Mountaineers are always on the hunt for secondary help, but are especially in need this offseason based on the loss of consensus All-American Beanie Bishop. Bishops’s success in 2023 is something the WVU coaches have been open about using when making pitches to transfer players, most notably defensive backs. Hollis, like Bishop before him, would be jumping from the Big Ten to the Big 12 if he does decide to become a Mountaineer.
