Jackson Biser Overcomes Injuries | WVU Football All 105

All 105 is a West Virginia Sports Now series profiling each member of the 2025 WVU Football Roster.

Although Mountain State native Jackson Biser is a year older than his brother and fellow WVU Football player Caden, he’ll have a chance to spend an extra season in college after injuries derailed the early stages of his career.

Biser began his college career during the 2020 season with Frostburg State, working his way onto the field for two games the following season. Since then, he hasn’t set foot on the field. Arriving in Morgantown via the transfer portal in 2024, Biser now has a chance to overcome the odds and turn his early struggles into success.

He’s the son of Sean Biser, who played at West Virginia in the early 1990s and went on to coach Jackson and his siblings in high school. A consistent All-Academic Team and Dean’s List honoree at each stop of his college career, Biser could help serve his team as a leader no matter his role on the field.

59 • Jackson Biser, redshirt junior defensive line

Last year: Biser transferred to WVU Football after spending the first four years of his college career between Frostburg State and Shepherd, missing two full seasons due to injury. As a result, he obtained a medical redshirt and retains two years of eligibility. Biser didn’t appear in any game action for the Mountaineers in 2024.

Stats: The 6-foot-2, 243 pound defensive lineman appeared in two games for Frostburg State in 2021, picking up an assisted tackle.

Camp outlook: Even without much on-field experience to this point in his college career, Jackson Biser made it through head coach Rich Rodriguez’s spring camp roster cuts, which bodes well for a potential role moving forward. With the injuries that derailed two seasons behind him, Biser could start to turn the corner.

Projected role: If Biser earns playing time this season, expect it in the form of special teams or rotational snaps. Otherwise, he could contribute in practice on the scout team.

Accolades, highlights: Biser earned First Team All-State honors as a senior at Morgantown High School.
