Kekoura Tarnue Reunited with Rodriguez, Alley | WVU Football All 105

All 105 is a West Virginia Sports Now series profiling each member of the 2025 WVU Football Roster.

Kekoura Tarnue began his Division I career under Rich Rodriguez at Jacksonville State, but he didn’t follow Rodriguez to Morgantown: Rodriguez followed him, as Tarnue transferred to WVU Football ahead of the 2024 season.

A native of Monrovia, Liberia, Tarnue also spent time at the JUCO level, intercepting eight passes in 2022 before transferring to Jacksonville State. He’s a steady performer who’s made his way into the starting lineup at every stop he’s made during his college career, and will see plenty of opportunities for playing time this season. Experience under new defensive coordinator Zac Alley will also help Tarnue’s case.

Last year: Tarnue played in 13 games and started six, appearing on the field for roughly half of the Mountaineers’ defensive snaps.

Stats: 35 total tackles, 2.5 tackles for loss, 0.5 sacks, a forced fumble and a pass breakup in 2024.

Camp outlook: Tarnue’s history as a starter and experience under defensive coordinator Zac Alley will help him stand out in a secondary without much Power Four experience.

Projected role: Expect Tarnue to lock down a starting safety role.

Accolades, highlights: Tarnue earned a JUCO First Team All-American nod in 2022 after intercepting a whopping eight passes, kickstarting his Division I career.
