Neal Brown’s Reaction To Travis Trickett Leaving For South Florida
Speculation has now become reality as Travis Trickett is no longer a member of the West Virginia coaching staff.
Trickett is now the new offensive coordinator for South Florida, as he previously served as WVU’s tight ends and inside receivers coach since 2019.
Thank you for all your hard work the last 3 years. We will miss you and your family. This is a great opportunity for you and we wish you the best of luck. https://t.co/xyOtwmas3L

This is a big loss for the Mountaineers program as Trickett has proven to be a valuable recruiter, especially in Florida, which is a key territory for West Virginia. Two years ago, former WVU assistant Xavier Dye also left West Virginia for South Florida, where he is currently the tight ends coach.
This will be Trickett’s fourth opportunity as an offensive coordinator, as he previously one at Georgia State, Florida Atlantic and Samford.
The recruiting dead period ends on Friday, as college programs are once again permitted to get back on the road recruiting.
Head coach Jeff Scott came to the Bulls from a tenure at Clemson working as the co-OC. Key pieces of the Bulls’ offensive and defensive coaching presences came with him when he was hired in 2019, including recently-departed offensive coordinator Charlie Weis Jr.
