Ohio TE Mentions ‘Loving the Intensity’ During WVU Football Practice
Rich Rodriguez’s “Hard Edge” philosophy was clearly conveyed to a recruit who visited WVU football spring practice recently.
Ohio tight end Landon Dawson was impressed by the intensity during practice when he was there on Monday, April 6.
“Great visit today. Loved the intensity I saw during practice! Thanks for having, Michael Nysewander,” said Dawson about what he saw, making it seem as if he would fit right in as a future Mountaineer.
Dawson, listed at 6-foot-4 and 215 pounds, attends Mount Vernon High School as a member of the 2028 class. Even with two years left of high school football, Dawson already has some notable offers from Northwestern, Purdue, Southern Miss, Toledo and USF. He’s considered a three-star prospect by On3 Sports.
As a sophomore in 2025, Dawson recorded 559 yards and 10 touchdowns. He also totaled 43 tackles and 10 sacks with 11 tackles for a loss and a pick on defense as an outside linebacker.
