Schefter is reporting that Austin is expected to sign a new deal with the San Fransico 49ers, pending a physical. The 49ers would be Austin’s third NFL team since entering the league as a first-round pick in 2013.
Austin spent five years with the St. Louis and then Los Angeles Rams, the team that picked him eighth overall in 2013. He had 194 catches for 1,689 yards and 12 touchdowns with the Rams. He has spent the last two seasons as a member of the Dallas Cowboys. With the Cowboys, Austin had 21 catches for 317 yards and three touchdowns.
Also on the 49ers is former WVU standout Colton McKivitz. San Fransisco selected McKivitz in the fifth round of this summer’s draft.
