7-foot-4 Florida State big man Naheem McLeod has heard from many schools since entering the transfer portal earlier this week, including West Virginia. McLeod told 24/7 High School Hoops.

McLeod has been contacted by Arizona, Butler, Clemson, Drake, Drexel, Duquesne, Fairleigh Dickinson, Georgetown, Gonzaga, High Point, Howard, La Salle, Memphis, Minnesota, Norfolk State, Ole Miss, Pitt, Rutgers, South Carolina, St. John’s, Syracuse, Temple, Texas, Villanova, Wake Forest, West Virginia and others.

McLeod (7-foot-4, 248 pounds) leaves Florida State after two seasons under head coach Leonard Hamilton. McLeod, a native of Philadelphia, averaged 3.8 points, 2.7 rebounds and 1.2 blocks in 28 games. The 7-footer averaged just 13.1 minutes per game. McLeod recorded six blocks against Louisville this past season.

McLeod has two years of eligibility remaining.

West Virginia currently has three big men on the roster with Syracuse transfer Jesse Edwards, as well as Mohamed Wague and James Okonkwo. Last year’s starter Jimmy Bell is deciding on whether to stick with basketball or make the full transition to football. Starting forward Tre Mitchell announced his return to the program last week as well.
