Beard was dismissed by the Longhorns after being being charged with a third degree felony for domestic assault in December. He was arrested on Dec. 12.
According to the arrest report, Beard choked the woman for five seconds. Beard also allegedly gave bite marks and bruises to the victim. The woman said her breathing was affected.
Beard will be tasked with trying to rebuild an Ole Miss program that finished 12-21 and 3-15 in the SEC in the 2022-2023 season. Ole Miss has not been in the NCAA Tournament
