All 105 is a West Virginia Sports Now series profiling each member of the 2025 WVU Football Roster.

Rodney Gallagher III joined the WVU football program as the sixth-highest rated recruit in program history, a 4-star prospect with two-way potential at both wide receiver and cornerback. College programs also recruited him as a point guard, a testament to his athletic ability.

Gallagher spent most of his snaps at wide receiver during his first two seasons with West Virginia, playing in all 26 games with ten starts. Now under the tutelage of new head coach Rich Rodriguez, heโ€™ll devote his time and energy exclusively to the offensive side of the ball, which could help him unlock his full potential on the gridiron.

Last year: While he only made three starts, Rodney Gallagher took the field for 497 snaps during his sophomore season, all but 80 of them on offense. He also scored the first three touchdowns of his college career.

Stats: Gallagher picked up 339 yards in 2024 (288 receiving and 51 rushing). He rushed for 87 yards as a true freshman, picking up 7.4 yards per tote.

Camp outlook: At 5-foot-10 and 180 pounds, Gallagher fits the Mountaineersโ€™ offense best as a slot receiver, although he does have the ability to line up outside. Focusing solely on playing receiver could help him live up to his four-star billing.

Projected role: As with previous seasons, Gallagher will start some games depending on what sort of personnel the Mountaineers want to employ: three receiver sets versus more traditional formations.

Accolades, highlights: Gallagher earned a pair of first-team all-state selections as an ATH at Pennsylvaniaโ€™s Laurel Highlands High School. He received an All-American bowl invite and received four first-team all-state selections as a point guard.
