Syracuse Transfer DB Interested in Mountaineers

Syracuse junior defensive back Daivon Ellison announced yesterday that he would be transferring from the program and informed me that the Mountaineers are among one of the teams he would be interested in transferring to.

Ellison has yet to speak with the West Virginia staff, but is planning on reaching out in the coming days. Ellison has a couple of reasons to be connected with West Virginia.

“I have a former teammate (Corey Winfield) there and am also close with Elijah Battle who is also from New Jersey,” Ellison said.

Ellison seems impressed with the talent the Mountaineers produce at his position.

“I love the fact that they’re always producing top DBs and I love the culture.”

Ellison was a two-year starter for the Orange where he averaged right around 5 tackles per game. In 2016, he racked up 90 tackles and had one interception and one forced fumble.
