Earlier in the season I asked: Can these guys physically not get into the defensive crouch/head up/move the feet to stay in front of opponents? or are they too lazy to do what they can/need to do? They gave up a lot of drives to the basket resulting in lay-ups in the first half yesterday; in the second half they got their butts down, legs crouched, stopped the drives and were ready to get in the passing lanes to make some steals.Let’s hope they remember how they got the win—and continue to do it. I’m an 80 year-old ex-junior team coach who recalls the first things he taught young kids about playing defense[. 1st year record 2-16, next year 18-1 at a small rural school with only a handful of eligible guys. Been following Mtneers since West dominated the national scene (along with Robertson). Go Mnteers!
