To pick up right where he left off in Double-A, JJ Wetherholt homered in his first game in Triple-A.

Wetherholt went yard in his third at-bar after tripling in his first.

He was promoted from Springfield to Memphis following his first multi-homer game and being named to the National League roster for the MLB All-Star Futures Game.

The St. Louis Cardinals selected Wetherholt with the seventh overall pick in 2024, the highest selection in WVU baseball history. He helped the Mountaineers to an NCAA Super Regional appearance during his final season, setting a series of program records at the plate after breaking out during the 2023 campaign.

Wetherholt began the 2025 season in Double-A and recorded seven home runs, 34 RBI, 44 walks and 14 stolen bases before moving up to Triple-A. He helped the Cardinalsโ€™ Single-A affiliate win the Florida State League championship in 2024, logging the game-winning hit.
