With exit interviews underway, a report suggests a true freshman from the 2025 team decided to depart the WVU football program.

Linebacker Mike Hastie has decided to enter the transfer portal, his representatives told Chris Hummer of 247 Sports.

Hastie will leave Morgantown after recording one tackle during his lone season as a Mountaineer.

The Georgie native was a three-star recruit who produced over 300 tackles for Douglas County High School, a 6-A power house in the state.

Hastie had more than two dozen college offers, but still decided to commit to the WVU ahead of his senior year in high school. He announced his decision in June 2024, then doubled down six months later on National Signing Dayโ€ฆ even after the firing of former head coach Neal Brown.
