Over Kellogg’s 20-year career, he earned 195 wins at Stephen F. Austin before coming to Morgantown three years ago, where he is now 55-16. Entering his third season as WVU’s head coach, Kellogg is the seventh-winningest coach in Division I women’s basketball. He has guided the Mountaineers to back-to-back NCAA Tournament appearances. His remaining 250 wins come from Fort Lewis College, Northwest Missouri State and West Texas A&M at the Division II level.
Not wanting to focus too much on his 5ooth career win, Kellogg said on his ESPN+ post-game interview with Amanda Mazey that he was not happy with this team’s performance despite the double-digit win.
“But those are special milestones without question,” Kellogg said. “When you get to 500 that is a lot of years of coaching and a lot of different players, staff members, and their families so you just start to reminisce on everyone who has an impact on it. Certainly appreciative and very thankful for the career I have had. Not great today and we are going to get better from it, but this is one to celebrate.”

The Mountaineers were playing without star Jordan Harrison, who faced a one game suspension after being ejected from their memorable win over Duke.
WVU hopes to keep its winning season alive as the team heads to the Bahamas for the Baha Mar Pink Flamingo Tournament. They will face McNeese on Monday.
