West Virginia is now in the running for another highly coveted tight end prospect.

Gavin Grover, a class of 2024 recruit out of Olentangy High School in Lewis Center, Ohio, has WVU among his top three schools. He released his list on Twitter early Tuesday morning.

Grover, listed at 6’6” and 235 pounds, is regarded as the number 13 player in the state of Ohio and the number 26 overall tight end in the country, according to 247 Sports. Rivals has him slightly lower and ranked at number 27 recruit in Ohio.

West Virginia coaches were able to turn up the notch in their effort to land Grover during his visit at the end of March. He spent time with head coach Neal Brown and tight ends coach Blaine Stewart and toured the facilities.

The pursuit of Grover continues to show WVU’s shift in trying to utilize the tight end position in the padding game. This initially became evident after adding LSU transfer Kole Taylor, but has moved over to recruiting for the future of the program as well.

The Mountaineers are also an option for Brody Kosin, a three-star tight end from Michigan, who recently announced he will make his final decision on April 29.
