Although the 2019 football season is near the end for West Virginia, the recruiting season is just getting underway for Neal Brown and his staff.

Starting with today’s final home game vs. #21 Oklahoma State and for the next few weeks, the Mountaineer football program will host a number of players on both official and unofficial visits. WV Sports Now has been gathering names of players that will be making upcoming visits to Morgantown.

Douglas Emilien, 2020 3-star wide receiver (Plantation, Florida): Emilien tells WV Sports Now that West Virginia is in his final four with Cincinnati, Minnesota and Miami. Emilien will make his official visit to West Virginia on December 7.

Christian Leary, 2021 3-star wide receiver (Orlando, Florida): Leary tells WV Sports Now that he’ll make an unofficial visit to Morgantown on December 8. Leary tells me that he doesn’t have any other visits lined up but that both Ohio State and LSU are recruiting him hard.

“I’ve always loved West Virginia and what they do with their offense. I’m be attending the Junior Day at West Virginia,” Leary tells WV Sports Now. “Chad Scott is recruiting me and he tells me that I can be their guy on offense and that I’m a perfect fit because I’m a speedy, explosive receiver.”

“My speed is a big factor in my game. Coaches tell me that they like what I can do in space with the ball and how I make guys miss and score. This will be my first time to Morgantown so I’m hopeful that I’m surprised and that I enjoy it.”

Eddie Watkins, 2020 3-star defensive end (Evergreen, Alabama): Watkins was originally committed to Georgia Tech but has since re-opened his recruitment. Watkins (6’4″, 220) has already made two official visits (Georgia Tech and Purdue). Watkins will make his official visit to Morgantown the weekend of December 6.

Amir Chandler, 2021 defense end/defensive tackle (Hampton, Virginia) will visit today on an unofficial visit.

Damari Alston, 2022 athlete (Atlanta, Georgia) will make an unofficial visit today to West Virginia. The sophomore from Woodward Academy has offers from West Virginia, Toledo, Kent State and Georgia Southern.

Wesley Bailey, 2020 3-star defensive end (Clearwater, Florida) is expected to take his official visit to West Virginia the first weekend of December. Bailey is also considering Illinois and Washington State.

Jackie Matthews, 2020 3-star cornerback from Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College is making his official visit to West Virginia this weekend. It appears as though his decision will come down to either West Virginia or Central Florida.

Noah Beaudrie, 2021 quarterback from Erie, Michigan is making an unofficial visit today. Beaudrie is waiting for his first offer.
