Published

on

Morgantown, WV- West Virginia head coach Neal Brown announced during his weekly press conference that wide receiver Sean Ryan underwent surgery Tuesday morning and will be out at least the the next couple of games with an upper body injury. The injury occurred late in the fourth quarter against Texas this past Saturday when he hauled in a 39-yard pass and Longhorn DB Anthony Cook landed on top of him.

Despite not finishing the game on Saturday, he ended the day with a career-best five receptions for 70 yards.

The 6-3 198-lb was steadily increasing his production and was continuously praised for his blocking in the running game. The Mountaineers will have to rely on freshman Ali Jennings and redshirt freshman Bryce Wheaton to fill Ryans void.
