The West Virginia Sports Now Daily Notebook is a daily recap of news concerning West Virginia Football and Basketball.  

Update (4:30 p.m.) – 

Action Network’s Brett McMurphy released his latest 2021 Bowl season projections, and WVU has a new projection in McMurphy’s list. WVU is projected to face off against Purdue in the Guaranteed Rate Bowl on Dec. 28 in Phoenix, Arizona. Action Network favors WVU by 4.5 points in the potential matchup.

Update (3:35 p.m.) – 

Former WVU stars Geno Smith and Tavon Austin caused havoc upon the college football world in the early 2010s, and on Sunday, they finally played on the same football field again. Just on different teams this time, Smith on the Seattle Seahawks and Austin on the Jacksonville Jaguars.

Update (3:30 p.m.) – 

Former West Virginia wide receiver Kevin White caught his first NFL reception since 2018 Sunday against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. White’s 38-yard reception gave him the team lead in receiving yards.

Update (3:15 p.m.) – 

A couple of West Virginia recruits posted about their experience in Morgantown Saturday, getting to watch the Mountaineers upset then-No. 22 Iowa State, 38-31. 2023 three-star wide receiver Apollos Cook from River Bluff HS in South Carolina and 2023 RB/LB Antwan Hilliard from Lincoln HS in West Virginia shared their experiences.
