Starting in 2024, West Virginia will have four more new Big 12 Conference affiliates. The Big 12 added Arizona, Arizona State and Utah late Friday night to join with Colorado leaving the Pac-12.

Proximity has been thrown out of the window during this conference realignment stage and WVU geographically isn’t familiar with any of these Pac-12 schools. So here are West Virginia’s head-to-head records in football and men’s basketball against Arizona, Arizona State, Colorado and Utah.

Football:

0-0 vs. Arizona

1-1 vs. Arizona State

1-1 vs. Colorado

0-2 vs. Utah

Men’s Basketball:

2-3 vs. Arizona

0-0 vs. Arizona State

0-0 vs. Colorado

0-6 vs. Utah

Friday was a chaotic day for college athletics. It all started late Thursday night during the Arizona Board of Regents meeting where Arizona and Arizona State discussed departing the Pac-12. Big 12 executives accepted Arizona to join the conference. When this was all happening, Arizona State and Utah were hesitant, waiting on see what Oregon and Washington would do.

On Friday afternoon it was reported that Oregon and Washington would head to the Big Ten, starting in 2024. This has been a terrible summer for the Pac-12 as they’ve lost another pair to a different Power-5.

The Big 12 Conference starting in the 2024-25 season will consist of Arizona, Arizona State, Baylor, BYU, Central Florida, Cincinnati, Colorado, Iowa State, Houston, Kansas, Kansas State, Oklahoma State, TCU, Texas Tech, Utah and West Virginia.
