According to other reports, Arizona is way ahead of schedule to join the conference as Arizona State and Utah are a little bit behind. UA is looking to become the second Pac-12 team to jump ship to the Big 12 in the last week as Colorado returned to its old stomping grounds.
Arizona football is led by head coach Jedd Fisch, who is entering his third year in Tucson. The Wildcats finished 5-7 last year after a one-win season in 2021. On the men’s basketball side, former Gonzaga assistant Tommy Lloyd is also entering his third season at UA. The basketball team has won 61 games in the last two years with back-to-back NCAA Tournament appearances and a Sweet-16 in 2022.
If everything goes to plan, Arizona will join Baylor, BYU, Cincinnati, Colorado, Houston, Iowa State, Kansas, Kansas State, Oklahoma State, TCU, Texas Tech, UCF and West Virginia starting in 2024.
WV Sports Now will update you with the latest on the Big 12’s end if they make it official with the Wildcats.
