(Nathan Breisinger, Pittsburgh Sports Now) One of the top remaining players available in the WPIAL Class of 2025 has narrowed down his list of schools.

Central Catholic athlete Bradley Gompers announced Wednesday on X that he has finalized his top seven schools that includes Pitt, West Virginia, Maryland, Northwestern, Duke, Rutgers and Michigan State.

Gompers, a 6-foot-5, 215-pound athlete who splits between outside linebacker, tight end and strong safety, holds a 5.7 ranking as a three-star prospect on

As West Virginia deals with stiff competition for a prospect that resides in an area that the Mountaineers have recruited heavily, WVU has also hosted Gompers on numerous occasions, including a visit on April 24.

In the month of April, Gompers paid visits to Rutgers and Duke, and he has an official visit scheduled for Michigan State already.

After being sidelined with a broken collarbone this past fall, Gompers returned for the postseason and made 16 tackles and recorded a fumble recovery in the Class 6A Championship.

WVU currently holds seven commitments in the class of 2025 — three-star offensive lineman Gavin Crawford (Olney, Md.), three-star quarterback Scotty Fox (Mentor, Ohio), three-star wide receiver Tyshawn Dues (Hurricane, W.Va.), three-star tight end Jackson Accuardi (De Forest, Wisconsin), three-star offensive lineman Eidan Buchanan (Olney, Md.), three-star offensive lineman Thomas Barr (Haverford, Pa.) and three-star cornerback Zah Jackson (Huntington, W.Va.).

With the summer of official visits fast approaching, there should be quite a few more commitments in the coming weeks and months, including more from the WPIAL.
