WPIAL three-star athlete Jordan Mayer (6-foot-5, 230-pounds) has placed West Virginia in his final four along with Cincinnati, Virginia Tech and Wisconsin.

Mayer is a Pennsylvania state champion from WPIAL area high school Thomas Jefferson in Jefferson Hills, Pennsylvania and listed as an edge rusher on 247Sports and Rivals. He also plays tight end in high school.

Mayer previously committed to Boston College on March 20, 2022. That commitment lasted essentially a month as he de-committed from the ACC school on April 22. Boston College is not in his final four.

Both Rivals and 247Sports are projecting Mayer to decide on Wisconsin. Meyer visited Wisconsin twice with the first being on April 22, the day he de-committed from Boston College. He has an official visit scheduled with them on June 10 and an official visit scheduled with Cincinnati on June 3, his only two scheduled thus far.

He did visit West Virginia prior to his commitment of Boston College on January 5 of this year. At the time, he spoke with our own Ethan Bock about his thoughts on West Virginia. He currently does not have an official visit scheduled with the school or Virginia Tech, the last school in his top four.

The top four comes from an offer sheet of 24. His full list is Akron, Boston College, Bowling Green, Buffalo, Central Michigan, Charlotte, Cincinnati, Duke, Duquesne, Eastern Michigan, Georgia Tech, James Madison, Kent State, Miami (OH), Navy, Ohio, Rutgers, Syracuse, Temple, Toledo, Vanderbilt, Virginia Tech and West Virginia.
