4-Star Justin Benton Schedules Official Visit With West Virginia

Four-star defensive lineman Justin Benton (6-foot-2, 275-pounds) will make his official visit to West Virginia on June 3-5, as announced on his Twitter account earlier today.

Benton currently plays football at Newton High School in Covington, Georgia. He is a class of 2023 recruit and the No. 13 rated defensive lineman for that class by Rivals. He’s rated No. 50 overall for the same position class by 247Sports.

previously named West Virginia among his top eight back on May 21. His top eight are Duke, Georgia, Houston, Mississippi State, Nebraska, Penn State and Tennessee. 247Sports and Rivals both are projecting him to head to Georgia, as of this moment.

Benton has visited Georgia twice already, but neither were an official visit. The only other official visit Benton has scheduled right now is with Penn State on November 29.

Benton has visited South Carolina (twice), Penn State, Tennessee and Florida State already unofficially in addition to his two Georgia visits. He hasn’t visited West Virginia yet.

Benton has received 23 scholarship offers total in his recruiting cycle. In addition to his top eight, he has also received offers from Arizona State, Arkansas, Florida, Florida State, Kentucky, Louisville, Maryland, Michigan State, Oregon, South Carolina, UCF, USC, Vanderbilt and Virginia Tech.
