WPIAL 4-Star Considering West Virginia After Pitt Visit

Even after visiting Pitt, a 2027 four-star WPIAL player is considering West Virginia and a move down south instead.

Gabriel Jenkins — a 6-foot-2, 185-pound cornerback out of Imani Christian Academy in Western Pennsylvania — narrowed his focus to Kentucky, Maryland, Michigan State, Penn State, Pitt, UFC, Syracuse and WVU, he announced Monday on X.

West Virginia initially offered Jenkins over a year ago in December of 2023. His WVU offer came a couple months after he received one from Pitt.

It now appears Jenkins is still considering WVU despite the change in coaching staffs from Neal Brown to Rich Rodriguez.

At Imani Christian Academy, Jenkins stars on both sides of the ball at running back and defensive back. During his sophomore season, he totaled 1,300 rushing yards. On defense, he compiled 20 tackles, six interceptions, five pass break-ups and five tackles for loss.
