2025 Spring Mills QB Talks WVU Offer, Fit in Rich Rodriguez Offense

2025 Spring Mills Quarterback Max Anderson was nothing short of amazing this past year, only falling in the 4A State Championship to perennial power Martinsburg High School.
Anderson excelled on both sides of the ball this year, earning himself First Team-All State as a defensive utility player, while also gaining an All-State mention for his quarterback play. His exceptional play has earned him an offer from WVU.

The 2025 Spring Mills star threw for near 1,500 yards and 19 touchdowns during his senior campaign. Anderson was not only a threat through air, as he ran for 1,000 yards and 18 touchdowns, averaging over nine yards a carry. What is possibly the most impressive feat of his historic senior year, although Spring Mills finished as the state runner-up, Anderson was still awarded the State Championship Game Most Valuable Player.
Anderson received his offer from WVU on Jan. 7, after he had talked to assistant coach Blaine Stewart.
Stewart saw Anderson’s film recently. โHe (Coach Stewart) said he liked the way I was throwing the ball. He told me I had a great season and he was proud of what I did this season.โ
Growing up in West Virginia, the offer meant a lot to Anderson. โIt’s always great to be noticed by your home state school.
Anderson then continued. โIn which I used to support in going to a lot of their games watching my uncle play, and just being a fan in general!โ
As noted of the pure athletic Anderson is, his conversation with Stewart stayed in the realm of staying at quarterback, with Anderson noting, “I think I fit really well with (Coach) Rodriguez’s offensive schemes.โ
Anderson would excel under the revamped offensive scheme. Coach Rodriguez emphasizes speed, agility, and versatility, in which Anderson has showcased all of the above. The versatility of throwing and rushing for over 1,000 yards, while also showcasing his speed and agility with averaging over nine yards a carry seems to be a perfect fit for Coach Rodriguez’s offense.
Anderson not only excels on the field, but he also boasts a 4.0 GPA and prides himself on his on his leadership. โI’m just a hard working kid,โ he said
โI bring leadership and a guy who serves his community for my hometown.โ
The Spring Mills gunslinger is more than deserving of his offer from the WVU program, and his style of play is essentially perfect fit for a Rich Rodriguez offense.
