WVSN Daily Notebook: Dec. 29, 2020
Welcome to the WVSN Daily Notebook. This post will be updated with news throughout the day, so be sure to check back often to stay on top of everything that’s going on with WVU and West Virginia high school sports.
UPDATE – 7 a.m.
Lots going on this week with WVU hosting Northeastern in basketball today while the football team prepares to take on Army in Thursday’s Liberty Bowl, and there is more good news on the recruiting trail this week for the Mountaineers.
West Virginia received its first verbal commitment for the recruiting Class of 2022 last week from Spring Valley High’s Corbin Page, and on Sunday Pennsylvania’s Mehki Flowers cut his recruiting down to 10 schools — with WVU among that group. Flowers, listed as a 6-foot-1 and 187 pound athlete from Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, is rated a four-star recruit by 247Sports.
In addition to the Mountaineers, Flowers named Virginia Tech, Arizona State, Nebraska, Rutgers, Georgia Tech, Kentucky, Connecticut, Penn State and Howard as the programs he is focusing on.
