WVU AD Wren Baker Keeps Promise, Endures Mayo Bath for Worthy Cause
No one can say Wren Baker is not a man of his word. And on Wednesday, it was finally time for Baker to pay up on his promise.
WVU’s director of athletics endured a mayo bath outside of the West Virginia football facility. Baker sat there as mayonnaise was dumped all over him, notably Duke’s Mayonnaise in honor of the Mountaineers capping off their 2023 season with a victory in the Duke’s Mayo Bowl.
Nothing better than a Mayo Dump for @WVUKids.

This mayo bath was also a special one, raising money for a worthy cause. Based on Baker promising he would eventually join head coach Neal Brown and also take a mayo bath if West Virginia won the bowl game, the Duke’s Mayo Bowl announced it was partnering with the Country Roads Trust to raise money for the WVU Children’s Hospital.
After a few weeks of donations, the moment of truth arrived and Baker took the much anticipated mayo bath. More than $855,000 was raised.

Gotta love an athletic director willing to have fun, especially after a win and for that to then benefit a great cause. A big win for everyone involved. Bravo to Wren Baker!
