Just hours after receiving a commitment from one transfer defensive back, the WVU football staff was busy sending an offer to another one.

Tulane transfer defensive back DJ Douglas posted about earning an offer from the Mountaineers late Sunday night. After being a key member of a Tulane team that went 11-2, Douglas, like many of his teammates, decided to transfer following Willie Fritz leaving to become the head coach at Houston.

West Virginia is now hoping Douglas ends up facing his old coach as an opponent in the Big 12 with the Mountaineers. Douglas totaled 54 tackles with five pass deflections and three interceptions in 2023.

He also has the opportunity to go with Fritz and play under the coach again at Houston. The Cougars and North Carolina State are the other programs Douglas recently posted about. He’s already been to Houston on an official visit.

You can find Douglas and other transfer players listed on our partner the Portal Report’s database.
