WVU Football Enters Competition for Highly Coveted 2027 Edge
In addition the recent offers to offensive players, the WVU football staff also extended one to a top edge rusher this week.
2027 prospect Mekai Brown posted about his West Virginia offer on social media, stating that WVU defensive line coach William Green reached out to express the Mountaineers’ interest.

Listed at about 6-foot-7 and 230 pounds, Brown plays both football and basketball at Greenwich Country Day School in Greenwich, Conn. He’s firmly ranked as the top player in Connecticut and is even among the top 20 edge rushers nationally, according to 247 Sports.
Brown is already building an impressive offer list that’s highlighted by Boston College, Florida, Georgia Tech, Penn State, Pitt, Rutgers, Syracuse, USC and Wisconsin.
