The WVU football staff is looking at a recruit already committed elsewhere as their possible future quarterback.

Despite being committed to JMU since May, 2026 prospect Rocco Marriott announced that he received an offer from West Virginia. Marriott posted the news on X (formerly Twitter).

WVU quarterbacks coach Rhett Rodriguez called Marriott to officially extend him the offer on Tuesday.

A 6-foot-4, 215-pound product of Platte County High School in Missouri, Marriott is rated as a consensus three-star and inside 247 Sportsโ€™ top 10 in the state for his class.
