WVU Football First Big 12 School to Offer 2026 3-Star North Carolina Edge

In an effort to build a strong pass rush for years to come, the WVU football staff sent an offer to a 2026 edge rusher earlier this week. Jace McCallum revealed his West Virginia offer on Wednesday.
“After a great conversation with Coach Green, I’m blessed to receive my 25th Division 1 offer and first (Big 12),” said the North Carolina native on X (formerly Twitter). WVU defensive line coach William Green is leading McCallum’s recruitment.

The 6-foot-4, 270-pound McCallum has become a popular recruit with offers all over the country. He’s a two-time All-Conference player at Hickory Ridge High School in Harrisburg, N.C.
McCallum has already been awarded three stars by both 247 Sports and On3 Sports and is ranked as one of the top 30 North Carolina prospects. As far as edge rushers nationally, he’s ranked at No. 39 via 247 Sports’ composite rankings and No. 63 by On3.
The previous West Virginia staff started looking at McCallum in September and he visited for a game, but never made him an official offer.
Power Four programs like Duke, Georgia Tech, North Carolina State, Virginia and Virginia Tech have shown interest in McCallum. He has a spring visit scheduled with Virginia and official visits already booked closer to the summer with Georgia Tech and Virginia Tech.
McCallum also has offers from other notable schools like Appalachian State, Buffalo, Coastal Carolina, Delaware, East Carolina, Georgia Southern, Georgia State, JMU, Liberty, San Diego State, Troy and USF.
Most national recruiting services project McCallum to North Carolina State.
