West Virginia fifth-year senior Peyton Hall is making the most of his final campaign representing WVU in a Mountaineers singlet.

The two-time All-American picked up three victories in Day 1 of the Big 12 Tournament to advance to the finals in the 165-pound bracket.

Teammate Jett Strickenberger also secured a spot in the 125-pound finals after picking up a pair of wins during Saturdayโ€™s action.

While Hall will be searching for his first Big 12 championship when the finals begin at 9 p.m. Sunday on ESPNU, he secured another personal milestone.

After defeating Arizona Stateโ€™s Nicco Ruiz by an 8-2 decision in the semifinals, Hall passed Greg Jones for the most wins in West Virginia program history. Hall improved to 29-1 on the season and now has 129 victories and counting.

The No. 2 seeded Hall beat Cal Baptistโ€™s Daniel Manibog via 15-0 technical fall in his opening match before defeating No. 7 seed Jack Thomsen of Northern Iowa 9-6 in sudden victory.

Hall will face Missouri’s Cam Steed for the title. Hall defeated Steed 10-8 on Jan.26 during West Virginia’s match with the Tigers.

Strickenberger, the No. 3 seed at 125 pounds, continued his stretch of strong wrestling by shutting out No. 6 Antonio Lorenzo 4-0 and pinning No. 2 Stevo Poulin of Northern Colorado in the semifinals.

Strickenberger is set to take on Oklahoma State’s Troy Spratley in the championship. Strickenberger pinned Spratley in the Mountaineers’ dual meet loss to the Cowboys on Jan. 19.

Jordan Titus and Ian Bush also advanced in the consolation brackets. Titus overcame a loss to Oklahoma’s Moscha Schwartz and rebounded with three consecutive victories in the 141 pound bracket.

Bush opened the 197-pound bracket with a major decision win before falling to South Dakota State’s Zach Glazier 4-2. Bush then recorded back-to-back technical fall wins to move on.

Day two of the WVU wrestling team the Big 12 Tournament will begin at 1 p.m. Sunday on ESPN+.
