No matter what the next WVU football staff looks like, the Mountaineers know they need more help in the secondary. To that end, WVU sent an offer all the way across the country to a defensive back on Wednesday night.

Fresno State defensive back transfer Julian Neal posted about his West Virginia offer as his seventh since he officially became available in the transfer portal on Monday.

The 6-foot-2 and 200-pound San Francisco, Calif. native recorded 35 total tackles, five pass deflections, two interceptions and a sack during the 2024 season, his first earning significant playing time in his three years at Fresno State.

He only has one year remaining of eligibility.

Cincinnati, Kansas State, Northwestern, Stanford, Utah State and Washington State are the other schools to extend an offer to Neal at this time.
