Around the Big 12 for Week 7: One Major Upset, Cinderella Stories Continue
With West Virginia off, let’s take a look around the Big 12 and see what happened within the rest of the conference in Week 7.
For starters, there was one big upset. First, Deion Sanders led Colorado to a 24-17 win over No. 22 Iowa State. The Colorado crowd stormed the field to celebrate the win after the game.

Kansas State also exposed TCU, beating the Horned Frogs 41-28 at home. Houston manhandled Oklahoma State to the tune of 39-17, continuing the Cougars surprising 5-1 start to the season.
In a matchup of former recent Group of 5 schools, Cincinnati beat UCF 20-11.
In other games, Texas Tech took care of business against Kansas 42-17, Utah claimed a convincing 42-10 win over 2024 conference champion Arizona State and BYU escaped Arizona with a fourth quarter comeback and then won in overtime 33-27 to stay unbeaten.

Joining WVU on a bye week, Baylor sits at 4-2 and 2-1 in Big 12 play.
Now that their week off is over, the Mountaineers will get back to work and prepare to travel to Orlando, Fla. to meet UCF. Kickoff between West Virginia and UCF is set for 1 pm ET on Saturday, Oct. 18.
