WVU Linebacker VanDarius Cowan Ruled Out for Baylor Game

Published

West Virginia University bandit linebacker VanDarius Cowan has been ruled out of WVU’s upcoming football game against Baylor, according to Mountaineer coach Neal Brown.

Brown confirmed Cowan’s status Thursday evening on his weekly radio show. Brown had said Cowan was questionable during his media availability Tuesday afternoon.

Cowan was injured last Saturday against Oklahoma State on a play where he sacked OSU quarterback Shane Illingworth. Cowan has been one of WVU’s best defensive players through two games, collecting six tackles, 3.5 for loss and two sacks.

Cowan was healthy this season after suffering a season-ending knee injury that limited to just two games in the 2019 season.
