WVU officially launches Will Grier Heisman campaign

The 2018 football season is rapidly approaching as we are under a month until fall camp begins and only two weeks until Big 12 media days. There’s certainly been a tremendous amount of hype surrounding West Virginia and even more attention toward senior quarterback, Will Grier.

This morning, the university officially launched it’s Will Grier Heisman campaign with a website (www.grier7heisman.com) that documents his bio, family bio and a weekly video release.

Grier, coming off a very impressive “rookie” season with West Virginia threw for 3,490 yards and 34 touchdowns all before his injury vs Texas late in the season. To think he virtually threw for that many yards and that many touchdowns in only 10 games is unreal. Grier has the potential for an even stronger year in 2018 as he enters his 2nd year as the starting quarterback, and returns three of his top four receivers (David Sills V, Gary Jennings, Marcus Simms).

A couple weeks ago Grier was asked about the talk surrounding his chance at the Heisman Trophy and he responded, “I think it’s great for the university. I’d love to bring a Heisman to Morgantown, but the main thing I’m focused on is going 1-0 every week.”

Will Grier looks to become the first Mountaineer to win the Heisman Trophy and the first to be named a finalist since Major Harris in 1989.
