As a part of West Virginia University athletics rebranding for the upcoming seasons, the historical Coliseum got a new look that was just recently unveiled to the public. Athletic Director, Shane Lyons, made the much anticipated announcement yesterday that there will be a new court design for the 2019-2020 WVU Basketball season.

The former design was introduced in 2009 and was covered with gold. Many fans even said that there was “too much” gold, and that the court itself looked to be a yellow tint. The Men’s record on the old floor was 131-90 and the Women’s was 152-39.

The new hardwood seems to be somewhat of a turning point for Mountaineer basketball, as Huggins started going away from “Press Virginia” last season and has started recruiting players that are more capable of scoring in bunches.

The new look Coliseum can very well be all over highlights across America this year with a flashy Jordan McCabe, explosive Emmitt Matthews Jr. and double-double machine Derek Culver returning for their sophomore seasons. The Mountaineers will also be welcoming in Oscar Tshiebwe, who is one of the top overall players in the country.

Players like that on a sleek new court will bring the energy back to Morgantown this winter.
