The No. 24 West Virginia University women’s basketball team went on the road Wednesday and beat Texas Tech 73-53 at United Supermarkets Arena in Lubbock, Texas.

The Mountaineers (12-2, 6-2 Big 12) extended their winning streak to seven games with the victory — marking the first time WVU has won six consecutive Big 12 games since 2014.

Four WVU players scored in double-digits in Wednesday’s win, led by 24 points from senior guard Kysre Gondrezick. Sophomore forward Esmery Martinez finished with 16 points, junior guard Jasmine Carson had 12 points and junior forward Kari Niblack chipped in with 10 points. Senior center Blessing Ejiofor grabbed a team-high 10 rebounds for West Virginia.

WVU made 26 of 67 field goal attempts against TTU (38.8 percent) and forced 16 turnovers — scoring 15 points from those — as well as grabbing eight steals as a team.

TTU (8-8, 3-6 Big 12) was led by Vivian Gray’s 18 points and 10 rebounds in the loss.

WVU next plays Saturday at TCU, with the Mountaineers and Horned Frogs scheduled to tip at 7 p.m. from Schollmaier Arena in Fort Worth, Texas. The game will be streamed live on Big 12 Now.
