WVU’s Gabe Osabuohien Works Out With Cleveland Cavaliers

As first reported by Jake Weingarten, former West Virginia forward Gabe Osabuohien worked out with the Cleveland Cavaliers on Monday.

Osabuohien has worked out with the Charlotte Hornets and Washington Wizards over the past few weeks. The Canadian native has future work out sessions planned with the New York Knicks, Toronto Raptors and Atlanta Hawks.

Osabuohien spent three seasons at West Virginia after transferring from Arkansas in 2019. The fifth-year senior appeared in 87 games from 2019-22, averaging 3.2 points, 4.6 rebounds, 1.9 assists, 1.3 steals and 0.4 blocks. Osabuohien won the 2022 Co-Big 12 Defensive Player of the Year award, sharing the honor with Oklahoma State’s Moussa Cisse and Baylor’s Jonathan Tchamwa Tchatchoua.

The 2022 NBA Draft will take place in Chicago from May 16-22, with the draft taking place on June 23 in Brooklyn.
