Ray is listed as a four-star recruit for ESPN, On3 and 247Sports’ composite rankings. Rivals has him listed as a three-star recruit as does 247Sports non-composite recruiting rankings.
The composite rankings, which are essentially an industry average of the prospect, have Ray listed as the 305th best prospect in the country, 39th best receiver and 60th best player from the state of Florida all for the class of 2023. 247Sports is much lower on him, putting him as the 71st best receiver and 86th best player from Florida.
Rivals is also lower than the average on him placing him as the 82nd best receiver for the class without ranking him for the state or nationally. On3 is where he is the most highly touted, as they rate him No. 139 in the entire country, 21st best receiver and 35th best player from Florida. ESPN put him as the No. 54 receiver, No. 191 player from the southeast region and No. 82 player from the state of Florida.
He had 18 total offers to chose from when deciding on his final three. The other schools to offer him were Boston College, Cincinnati, Coastal Carolina, FIU, Florida, Florida Atlantic, Florida State, Georgia Tech, Massachusetts, Miami, Tulane, UCF, USF, Virginia Tech and Western Kentucky.
