Alek Manoah makes his pro debut with Vancouver

Alek Manoah made his pro debut in Spokane, Washington for the Vancouver Canadians Saturday night. The former Mountaineer starting pitcher was selected 11th overall by the Toronto Blue Jays organization during the MLB Draft in June.

The big right hander started the game and only pitched one inning, but he didn’t disappoint. Although he did give up a hit, he threw 15 pitches, nine of them were strikes and he finished the inning with two strikeouts.

His first professional pitch was a strike.

Manoah isn’t expected to throw a lot of innings this year after coming off a season tossing over a 100 innings during the 2019 WVU Baseball season.
