Former West Virginia basketball players Gabe Osabuohien and Jermaine Haley will reunite as they look to begin their new journey with the Cleveland Charge, an NBA G-League affiliate of the Cleveland Cavaliers. The Charge released their training camp roster on Monday afternoon with the ex-Mountaineers both making the cut.

Osabuohien and Haley played together during the 2019-20 season where the team finished 21-10. Both Mountaineers were awarded training camp opportunities after an open tryout with the Charge.

Osabuohien spent three seasons at West Virginia after transferring from Arkansas in 2019. The fifth-year senior appeared in 87 games from 2019-22, averaging 3.2 points, 4.6 rebounds, 1.9 assists, 1.3 steals and 0.4 blocks. Osabuohien won the 2022 Co-Big 12 Defensive Player of the Year award, sharing the honor with Oklahoma State’s Moussa Cisse and Baylor’s Jonathan Tchamwa Tchatchoua.

Osabuohien worked out with the Cavaliers in June.

Haley played two seasons at West Virginia from 2019-20, after transferring from New Mexico State. The 6-foot-7 guard from Vancouver, Canada averaged 8.9 points, 4.3 rebounds, and 1.9 assists in his senior season for the Mountaineers. Haley played in Germany one season after graduating. Haley went on to play with Capital City Go-Go, Washington Wizards’ G-League affiliate last season.
