All 105 is a West Virginia Sports Now series profiling each member of the 2025 WVU Football Roster.

One of several new faces on the Mountaineers’ offensive line this season, Josh Aisosa is a relative newcomer to the gridiron. The 6-foot-4, 270 pound redshirt freshman began his football career as a high school sophomore in 2021, but that didn’t stop him from earning a three-star rating as a recruit, ranking as the No. 52 interior lineman in the country for the class of 2024 per On3.

Aisosa also wrestled in high school, a two-sport combination that could help him on the gridiron because of the focus on techniques regarding body control, grappling and weight transfer.

Although born outside Dallas, Aisosa attended high school in Oklahoma and committed to the Sooners during his initial recruiting process, setting foot on campus as an early enrollee in January 2024. Despite the early start, Aisosa didn’t see the field during his lone season in Norman, then hit the transfer portal following the Sooners’ spring training window. He also took reps at center during that period.

With four seasons of eligibility remaining, Aisosa has plenty of time to develop into a starter… and with less than five years of football under his belt in all, his best days on the field might wait ahead.

59 • Josh Aisosa, redshirt freshman offensive lineman

Last year: Josh Aisosa remained on the sideline during his true freshman season, taking a redshirt year with the Oklahoma Sooners before transferring to WVU during the offseason.

Stats: N/A

Camp outlook: The Mountaineers’ offensive line room took a beating during the offseason as head coach Rich Rodriguez took over, with a series of graduations and transfers leaving the position group without any incumbents. As such, Aisosa will have a chance to stake a claim for himself. While the Sooners listed him at 305 pounds last season, the WVU Football roster lists him at 270 pounds.

Projected role: Barring a standout camp performance, Aisosa will likely serve as a reserve at guard or center during the 2025 season with more experienced options in front of him.

Accolades, highlights: A three-star prospect in high school, recruiting platforms like On3 (No. 52) and ESPN (No. 63) ranked Aisosa among the top 100 interior linemen in his class.
